Train Exhibit to feature Curt Tillotson
Will be located in Harris Exhibit Hall

For the past few years it has been on the agenda of the Granville County Historical Society to create a permament train exhibit. The first phase of this project included raising funds to create an exhibit space within the Harris Exhibit Hall to host this exhibit. Today this room is known as the Train Depot. It is our goal to have this long awaited exhibit completed by late Spring 2020.

One of the features of our permanent train exhibit will  focus on the photographs and artifacts that belonged to Curt Tillotson, a generous contribution of Jim and Harriett Crawford. Curt Tillotson, a local history teacher, was also a train enthusiast.  He concentrated on keeping records and taking picures of steam engines, collecting their schedules, documenting the weather on the day the pictures were taken--anything and everything that enhanced his collection of memorabilia regarding trains.
